Mission and Vision
We are the Provo Pride Council, a non-profit corporation organized to act as a community resource and symbol of hope and pride for residents of Utah County who may identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual, pansexual, transgender, transsexual, queer, questioning, intersex, intergender, asexual, etc. (abbreviated as LGBTQ or LGBT for simplicity).
Our mission is to support and celebrate the LGBTQ community in Provo and Utah County and foster understanding and ties with the larger community through a Pride Festival and other outreach programs. We affirm the equality, dignity, and right to self-determination of all people.
We and our sister organization, The Divine Sister-Misters, aim to improve our support for the LGBTQ and ally community in Utah County by expanding our outreach programs, holding a Pride Parade in addition to the Festival, building an LGBTQ Center, providing help for the homeless youth population and preventing more homeless youth through education, and developing mutually beneficial ties with sister Pride Festivals and local businesses, non-profit organizations, performers and artists, and the community at large.
